He got caught in the harpoon rope , which had wrapped itself ……………. his body and was taken underwater when the whale dived into the deep sea. Tashtego stood at the end of the boat holding a large knife to the rope. He looked at Stubb for the order to cut the rope. It was clear that he hated Pip for ……….. a coward and that he …………… be happy to let the poor boy drown in the water.
